The History

 
 
Seems that the first ones “Argentinean” lived there 13.000 years ago. The inhabitants of this place, located in the northwest of the county, were nomadic and they had an economy, which their priority are the gathering of fruits and the hunt. They hunted Milodones, Hyppidions (South American horses that disappeared 10.000 years ago) gumps, flames and ñandúes.  
 
  


 
In 1516, Juan Solís (of Spain) arrived in the costs of the "Rio de Plata", but the natives resisted to his conquest and the expedition failed and Solís died. Magallanes arrived 4 years later and go for the "Rio de Plata" looking for a connection among the ocean Atlantic and Pacific. When he saw tath this connection didn't exist, he continued the navigation toward the south for hibernate in the Patagonia costs. Then he had contact with the "Tehuelches", they were indigenous which he calls "Patagonian", and this event has given the name to this region located in the south ends of the country. After this, he discovered the strait that takes their name and that connects the oceans Atlantic and Pacific.  
 
  


 
In 1776 appeared the "viceroyalty of the Rio de Plata", with Buenos Aires as it's capital. In 1810 the Argentineans fought against the Spanish domain and after 6 years, they achieved their independence in 1816. Due to the British intervention in the war that exploded in 1825 between the Brazil and the "Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata" (all for the territory), Uruguay separated from the others and form a new Independent Republic (1828).  
 


   
 
The entrance to European immigrants was allowed and the Treaty of limits was signed with Chile in 1881. In 1946 The General "Juan D. Perón" assumed the presidency of the country until final of 1955; during their command the economic and social transformation was so big that it modified all the country; and the industrialization was the goal of the public powers.
 


 
The Argentina of the XX century became in a mixture of races and cultures where took place a complicated identity, and little by little that characterize the Argentineans. The tango, the soccer, the political passions are only consequences of a time of ideological contradictions.
